What a Complete Business Audit Actually Looks Like.. And What I Find Every Time

Before I spend a single day at your business, I do my homework.
Not a quick Google search. A real, thorough audit of everything your business puts out into the world, your website, your social media, your online reviews, your competitor landscape, and your digital presence from top to bottom. I score it. I document it. And I hand it to you before I ever walk through your door.
Here's exactly what that looks like.
Step 1: Website audit.
I look at everything. Is it mobile-friendly? How fast does it load? Is the copy clear and compelling or is it full of jargon nobody searches for? Are there SEO keywords built into the content or is Google flying blind? Is the call to action obvious? Is it easy to contact you, find your hours, or make a booking?
Most websites I audit have at least five fixable issues that are directly costing the business customers. Slow load time alone can drop your Google ranking significantly. A confusing contact page can send a ready-to-buy customer straight to your competitor.
Step 2: Social media audit.
I look at every active platform. How consistent is the posting? What's the engagement rate? What content is performing and what's getting ignored? Is the bio optimized? Is there a link that actually works? Are the profile photos and cover images on-brand and current?
I also look at what your best-performing competitors are doing — what content formats, what hashtags, what posting cadence so I can show you exactly what's working in your industry right now.
Step 3: Online reputation audit.
Google reviews, Yelp, TripAdvisor, Facebook reviews. I look at all of it. How many reviews do you have? What's your average rating? Are you responding to reviews? Are there patterns in the negative feedback that signal a fixable operational issue?
Reviews are one of the most powerful ranking factors for local search. A business with 200 reviews and a 4.7 rating will almost always outrank a business with 15 reviews and a 4.9 rating. Volume matters as much as quality.
Step 4: Competitor analysis.
I identify your top three to five competitors in your market and audit them the same way I audit you. Where are they stronger? Where are they weaker? What are they doing that's working? What gap exists in your market that you could own?
This is where the real opportunities live. I've found significant gaps in almost every market I've studied things a business could do or say or show that nobody else in their space is doing. That's your competitive advantage, and most businesses never find it because they're too busy running their operation to stop and look at the landscape.
What I find every time.
Every audit is different but certain things show up consistently. Outdated websites that don't reflect the quality of the actual business. Social media that posts inconsistently and never gets traction. Review profiles that haven't been touched in months. Competitors doing simple things that your business could easily do better.
The audit doesn't just tell you what's wrong. It tells you exactly what to fix first, what will have the biggest impact, and what can wait.
And then I show up.
The audit is just the beginning. After I hand you the findings, I spend a full day at your business. I see how you operate, meet your team, capture content, and layer what I see in person on top of what I found in the audit. That combination is where the real strategy comes from.
It's free. The audit is yours to keep regardless of what happens next. No obligation, no pitch, no pressure.
If you want to know exactly where your business stands and what it would take to get where you want to go. Book a free day. I'll handle the rest.
